Aims
The Royal Society of Naval Sciences, founded on November 15th 1771, is one of the Royal Swedish Academies. The Society endeavours work in order to promote development in those areas of research that are concerned with freedom, peace, trade and security, and with Sweden’s capacity to assert herself when her vital interests are threatened. The Society seeks to influence public opinion, and to provide a record of current developments within its own particular field of competence.
The aim of the Royal Society of Naval Sciences is to follow, and actively promote, developments in the naval sciences and in maritime matters in general.
The motto of the Society is “With wisdom and fortitude”.
